Move Free - 50 caps , (Schiff)

Now with Joint Fluid (Hyaluronic Acid), the main component of synovial fluid of articular joints.

Unlike pain relievers that only offer temporary relief, Glucosamine and Chondroitin (the main ingredients in Schiff Move Free promote long term joint health.

Three tablets daily provide 1500 mg of Glucosamine and 1200 mg of Chondroitin, the amount tested by researchers.

Glucosamine is a basic building block of joint cartilage, which helps to maintain structural integrity of joints and connective tissue.

Chondroitin is a naturally occurring nutrient found in connective tissue. It is capable of binding water molecules to lubricate, cushion and support joints.

Now with Joint Fluid (Hyaluronic Acid). Synovial fluid is made up of molecules of Hyaluronic Acid. Not all Hyaluronic Acid molecules are the same. Schiff is the only brand that uses high potency, high purity Hyaluronic Acid (Joint Fluid). Only the Hyaluronic Acid (Joint Fluid) in Schiff Move Free is the same size molecule as Hyaluronic Acid in joints. A scientific study concluded that the same form of Hyaluronic Acid as is in Schiff Move Free is absorbed and concentrated in joints after oral ingestion.

SUGGESTED USAGE
For best results, take three capsules all at once, or one capsule three times daily with meals.

REVIEW BY EUGENE SCHIFF
In 1921, at the age of 19, Eugene Schiff immigrated to the United States from Hungary and entered the College of Pharmacy (now Wayne University) in Detroit, Mich., where he majored in pharmaceutics. Upon becoming a pharmacist, Schiff opened a drug store in Detroit, but soon realized his real interest was in foods with special health features.

In the late 1930s, Schiff pioneered the use of whey for human consumption and formed Schiff Bio-Foods, a whey packaging company. He began selling packaged whey at his own drug store and to a few other local drug stores. A year later, he gave up his store and decided to focus on the manufacturing and packaging of health foods.

Realizing that health food stores were selling synthetic vitamins rather than supplements made from natural products, Schiff began to study and experiment with whole foods such as brown rice, brewer’s yeast, wheat germ and liver. He found that these foods were naturally rich in vitamins and minerals. Schiff began to develop vitamins and minerals that best utilized and enhanced their natural properties.

One of Schiff’s major breakthroughs was finding that rose hips provided a more concentrated source of vitamin C than orange juice. Schiff was the first to introduce this vitamin C source to America. Schiff also was the leader in producing the first natural source multi-vitamin, Schiff’s V-Complette.

In 1949 Schiff moved his business to Jersey City, N.J. By 1954 business was booming and Schiff built a manufacturing plant and laboratory in South Hackensack, N.J. This building was a model for quality control and further helped to establish the Schiff brand as a trustworthy source of natural ingredients. In 1962 Schiff built a new 30,000-square-foot plant in Moonachie, N.J. By 1969, the Moonachie plant had doubled in size. In 1989 Schiff was acquired by Weider Nutrition International and relocated to Salt Lake City in 1991.

FAQ

How soon will glucosamine/chondroitin promote joint comfort?
Benefits from glucosamine and chondroitin generally become evident after four to eight weeks of use. Continued usage is needed in order to maintain the ingredients' benefits. Neither glucosamine nor chondroitin is an analgesic pain reliever or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

What is the recommended dosage of glucosamine?
The recommended daily serving is 1,500 to 2,000 milligrams.

What is the recommended dosage of chondroitin?
The recommended daily serving is 800 to 1,200 milligrams.

How long should I take glucosamine or chondroitin supplements?
Continued usage of glucosamine and chondroitin supplements is needed in order to maintain benefits. Lifelong supplementation makes good sense, because your body is constantly breaking down and rebuilding chondroitin.

Can I take my entire daily amounts of glucosamine and chondroitin all at once?
It is recommended that individuals take 1,500 to 2,000 milligrams of glucosamine and 1,200 milligrams of chondroitin over the course of the day with meals. However, taking the entire amount all at once is equally effective.

Is one form of glucosamine more effective than the other?
There are three types of glucosamine: Glucosamine Hydrochloride HCl), N-Acetyl Glucosamine, and Glucosamine Sulfate. Both glucosamine HCl and glucosamine sulfate are rapidly converted into "free" glucosamine in the stomach. So, as per a medical basis, they are equally as effective. However, glucosamine HCl is 79% glucosamine while glucosamine sulfate is only 47% - 52% glucosamine. This means that products containing 500mg glucosamine HCl have more glucosamine than products containing 500mg of glucosamine sulfate. Our Move Free and Schiff Glucosamine products primarily contain glucosamine HCl, providing consumers with a higher percentage of glucosamine than many of our competitors who use more glucosamine sulfate in their products.

Since glucosamine is related to glucose, do diabetics face any risk if taking glucosamine supplements?
There appear to be no problems in people with diabetes, obesity or heart diseases after taking glucosamine sulfate (average 1,500 milligrams daily for up to three years). There are no changes in blood glucose or cholesterol levels. Human studies gave 5000 mg of glucosamine intravenously, and found no alterations in blood glucose or its metabolism. These results, when combined, show that oral doses of glucosamine have no risk for harm.

Can I get the recommended amount of MSM from food sources?
While MSM is found in raw fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood and milk, it is extremely unstable. By cooking or processing these foods, the MSM content is eliminated or decreased markedly.

What is the difference between topical and oral forms of MSM?
Oral forms of MSM are considered a dietary supplement and are internally absorbed into joint tissue. There hasn't been any compelling scientific evidence to support the use of topical forms of MSM.
