Also known as Sri Lanka or Lenabatu Citronella, Citronella is a slightly sweet lemony smelling grass often typecast by many to be a natural insect repellent. Yet Citronella Essential Oil bears this great benefit in clearing the mind, refreshing any rooms, and softening the skin while fighting oily skin and sweaty feet.
Found to possess strong antifungal properties, Citronella Essential Oil is also used as an antiseptic,deodorant, diuretic, insect and moth repellent as well as for arthritis, colds and flu, rheumatism, excessive perspiration, oily skin, fatigue, headache. Plus it is an effective repellent for body and head lice.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Properly dilute 3 drops of Citronella Essential Oil per each teaspoon of massage oil, cream or lotion and apply this blend to your skin, producing a subtle senstaion of warmth. Add a few drops in a diffuser, burner or vaporizer for clarifying your mind as well as mental balance.
Sprinkle a few drops of this essential oil on some tissue paper and place it by a window as an insect repellent. Even though Citronella Essential Oil is considered nontoxic in low doses and nonirritant, this oil may irritate your skin because of possible sensitization or cause dermatitis in some individuals and should not be taken internally.
Avoid taking this oil if you are pregnant, nursing, have a history of health problems, or taking any other medications. Keep this and other essential oils out of the reach of children and pets.
