Coming from the tall Stryrax trees growing up in the tropical regions of Asia, Benzoin is produced when this tree is cut down, hardening into a resin as it is exposed to the open air. Benzoin Absolute Resin bears a long history of use in the East both as a medicine and incense just like two other resins, frankincense and myrrh.
Used to drive away "evil spirits", Benzion Absolute Resin Essential Oil is the main ingredient in "Friar's Balsam", a blended oil mixture that is used for respiratory conditions. An immobile solid in its own state, Benzoin Absolute Resin must be diluted in order to be used as an essential oil, a tincture (in fact, tinctures of Benzoin are used in pharmaceutical preparations while its resin is used as a frgrance and fixative in both the toiletries and perfume industries) and does not mix well with fixed oils.
Benzoin Absolute Resin Essential Oil's aroma is smooth, rich and creamy like vanilla but slightly woodsy that helps to provide an emotionally comforting quality, creating a safe refuge for those suffering from a life crisis and depression. SUGGESTED USAGE
Since Benzoin Absolute Resin Essential Oil is thick, you should warm the bottle a bit so that it would be easier to work with. Add this essential oil to a diffuser for a long-lasting warm and aromatic climate.
In fact, the oil is very soothing when it is used in a burner and although it is good enough for vaporizing, it may stick to the burner.

Benzoin Absolute Resin Essential Oil is one of the strongest sensitizers of all essential oils and should not be applied on the skin because it might possibly cause skin sensitivity and contact dermatitis even though it has been recommended on sore chapped lips. There is no known toxicity. Do not use this essential oil on babies and should be kept out of the reach of children.
