Why was the Ultimate Iron dose changed from 2 capsules to be taken 3 times daily to only 2 capsules daily?
At Enzymatic Therapy, we continually monitor new scientific information and guidelines to ensure that are products are both safe and effective. Recently, the National Academy of Science's Institute of Medicine issued new guidelines regarding Upper Intake Levels for certain dietary nutrients. Included in this guideline was a recommendation that dietary iron intake not exceed 45 mg per day (except in cases where iron is used as a medical treatment). Additional research has reported a LOAEL (Lowest Observed Adverse Effect Level) of 70 mg per day of iron.1 Therefore, we changed dosage recommendations on this product to reflect these new guidelines.
We suggest that individuals who require higher levels of iron for specific conditions consult their healthcare practitioner for the best individual dose of Ultimate Iron.
