FAQ
Why do the GS-500 and the Glucosamine Sulfate UltraCaps appear half-full? Will the product be less efficacious?
The gelatin capsule has been replaced with the UltraCaps vegetarian capsule. Although there has been no other change to the formula or its ingredients, the capsule appears less full because the fill capacity for the new capsule is greater than the previous gelatin capsule.
Realizing that this might cause concern for our consumers, we have reformulated subsequent lots to ensure the capsule appears full.
A person that is taking glucosamine sulfate questioned if this would affect the thyroid gland.
To date, more than 20 clinical studies using glucosamine sulfate have been reported, with nearly 3,000 patients receiving either glucosamine or placebo. These studies show a favorable response to glucosamine sulfate vs. placebo in supporting healthy joint function. Glucosamine sulfate has been administered safely with a variety of conditions, including circulatory disease, liver disorder, diabetes, lung disorder, and depression, with no observed interference with either the course of the illness or pharmacological treatment for these conditions. A small number of transient mild gastrointestinal problems have been reported associated with ingestion of glucosamine sulfate. However, these complaints are generally mild and are reversed when glucosamine sulfate is discontinued.
To date, we are unable to locate any study reporting the effects of glucosamine sulfate on thyroid gland.
Is any amount of iodine in the GS-750?
There is no iodine in any of our glucosamine sulfate (GS) products.
